The Lowell Village Commons

May contain: grass, plant, person, human, and lawn

The District has partnered with Downtown Grand Junction REgeneration and the City of Grand Junction to legally-designate the lawn in front of the Lowell School as publicly-accessible open space. The Lowell Village Commons is availible for use by District residents, tenants, and the general public at no charge.

In the coming years, additional open space improvements to the Commons will be phased in. REgeneration is currently seeking a placemaking consultant to develop a phased implementation plan for those improvements.

The Commons is availible to host public events, such as musical performances, movie screenings, and food festivals. A sample event that's currently in the planning stages: stay tuned for more details on a "food truck challenge" event tentatively scheduled for fall 2022.

The Commons can also be reserved by individuals or organizations for time-limited private events, such as fundraisers, weddings, or holiday parties. As a District constituent (townhome resident or school tenant), you can reserve the Commons for events at no charge.

Lastly: REgeneration is seeking a part-time contractor to serve as an "Events Coordinator" to manage the logistics and marketing for future events on the Commons. Please reach out if you know anyone that would be amazing in that role.
