District Welcomes Local Community Group to Lowell School

May contain: logo, text, and handwriting

The District is excited to welcome The Community Food Bank of Grand Junction's Harvest Hub to The Historic Lowell School Building!

The Community Food Bank of Grand Junction has been serving Mesa County for over 45 years - providing nutritious food access and hunger relief services to any Grand Valley neighbor in need - and they have grown significantly over the past 3 years. The Harvest Hub is a new initiative being launched by The Community Food Bank of Grand Junction.

The Community Food Bank's Harvest Hub location at the Lowell School will serve as office and community meeting space to build their fundraising development and community relations efforts that support their critical direct service work. The Community Food Bank's direct service programs - including food distribution - will continue to operate out of their existing location.

The Community Food Bank has chosen the Lowell School as the home for The Harvest Hub in hopes of providing a centrally-located "hub" in Downtown Grand Junction for staff, volunteers, supporters, and the community at large to come together and learn more about food insecurity needs in Mesa County. In addition, The Harvest Hub will host educational and fundraising events at the Lowell School and offer a place for partnership and collaboration across all aspects of the regional food system.

If you are interested in learning more about The Harvest Hub or have an idea for a potential collaboration, you can email the The Community Food Bank's Executive Director Alisha Wenger. Please stop by the Lowell School and welcome The Community Food Bank's Harvest Hub to the District!
