Details:  Downtown Colorado Inc. (DCI) hosts a "Creative Redevelopments" Tour and lunch/dinner as part of DCI's "In the Game" annual conference happening in downtown Grand Junction this year. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of two dynamic adaptive reuse projects reshaping downtown Grand Junction’s future. First, visit the Grand Valley Creative Alliance’s under-construction makerspace and a small-developer, creativity-driven transformation of a former brownfield site into a hub for fabrication, learning, and collaboration. Then explore the Lowell Village public-private project including the Historic Lowell School Building  preservation project (now home to vibrant office workspaces, artist studios, civic/non-profit groups, a craft beer taproom, six food trucks), the Lowell Village Townhomes (eight residential units with room to grow), and a reimagined community gathering place called the Lowell Village Commons. This 90-minute tour offers a candid look at the realities of creative redevelopment how vision, partnerships, and persistence turn challenging properties into catalytic community assets.  Followed by lunch / dinner with drinks and food availalbe for purchase from the Lowell School Building's resident taproom and food trucks.
