Details:  Downtown Colorado Inc. (DCI) hosts a "Creative Redevelopments" Lunch and Tour a as part of DCI's "In the Game" annual conference happening in downtown Grand Junction this year.  The event will start with lunch for attendees provided by the Lowell School Building's resident food and beverage tenants. Then attendees will take a 90-minute  behind-the-scenes tour of two dynamic adaptive reuse projects reshaping downtown Grand Junction’s future. First, explore the Lowell Village public-private project including the Historic Lowell School Building  preservation project (now home to vibrant office workspaces, artist studios, civic/non-profit groups, a craft beer taproom, six food trucks), the Lowell Village Townhomes (eight residential units with room to grow), and a reimagined community gathering place called the Lowell Village Commons. Then attendees will visit the Grand Valley Creative Alliance’s under-construction makerspace and a small-developer, creativity-driven transformation of a former brownfield site into a hub for fabrication, learning, and collaboration. This tour offers a candid look at the realities of creative redevelopment how vision, partnerships, and persistence turn challenging properties into catalytic community assets.
