What:  First Friday Art Happening @ Lowell School:  2 Art Exhibits + Artmaking Open House + Wearable Art

Where:  The Historic Lowell School Building, 310 N. 7th Street, Downtown Grand Junction, CO 81501

When:  Friday 9/6 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Details:  This month's "First Friday Art Happening @ Lowell School" includes 2 art exhibits, an artmaking open house, and a pop-up shop featuring wearable art. Here's the rundown of the art events happening in the LoDi (Lowell District) tonight:

* Classroom 11:  ArtLight Therapy and Studios exhibit of Justin Squier's work continues.  Justin was recently featured on KKCO highlighting his new interactive sculptures at the Las Colonias amphitheater.

* Classroom 4:  Hartmann Farmhouse Apothecary is hosting a "pop-up shop" featuring their curated fall collection of wearable art including clothes, shoes, and jewelry.

* Classroom 1:  Creative Spirits Colorado is hosting an Artmaking Open House. Come make some art or sign up for a future art class!

* Confluence Studios (our neigbors at 600 White Ave across 7th Street):  Confluence Studios is hosting an opening reception of "Text, Texture, and Textile." This eclectic show features local painters, mixed-media, book, collage, and fiber artists. Come meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments.

PLUS:  For dinner, we've got Armando Tacos and Le Snack Fine Foods. If you get thirsty, the Gemini Beer Company taproom in Classroom 5 has you covered. Several of the local businesses and community / civic groups inside the Lowell School will be open late, including the Mesa County Democrats who are hosting a non-partisan voter registration table open to anyone of any party that wants to register to vote or update their voter registration.
