Details: This month's "First Friday Art Happening @ Lowell School" includes two new exhibits, a book birthday celebration, a Frequency Lounge, and artist receptions. Here's the rundown of all the art events happening in the LoDi (Lowell District) tonight:
At The Historic Lowell School Building (310 N. 7th Street):
> Classroom 11: ArtLight Therapy and Studios is opening their new exhibit "Exiled to the Land of Shüd, Settled in Musst" featuring artist AJ Schlechten. This exhibit is a retrospective which has been in process since 2020, with the artist's creative journey "illustrated through historical techniques and timeless materials, with a whimsical twist."
> Classroom 7: Of Dirt and Wildflowers: A Creative Space to Grow and Bloom is hosting a Book Birthday celebrating the one-year anniversary of Kylee Marshall's first book. Signed copies of her book, prize drawings for curated gift packages, and birthday cake and other refreshements!
> The Commons (front lawn of the Lowell School Building): Live music from Mixed Bag Jazz. The Commons is the newest public park in Downtown Grand Junction that's open for the entire community to enjoy.
On White Avenue (directly across 7th Street from Lowell School):
> Confluence Studios (600 White Avenue): Confluence Studios' is hosting an opening reception for their new exhibit "The Colors of Summer." Refreshments available.
> The Energy Collaborative (640 White Avenue): The Energy Collaborative is hosting “Frequency Friday” with free balancing sessions and refreshing mocktails available in their Frequency Lounge.
PLUS: It's Food Truck Friday @ Lowell School tonight with 8 food / beverage trucks (shave ice and dole whip!), artisan vendors, kids' activities, award-winning craft beer, and free ice cream! Several of the local businesses and community / civic groups inside the Lowell School will be open late, including the Mesa County Democrats who are hosting a non-partisan voter registration table open to anyone of any party that wants to register to vote or update their voter registration.
