What:  First Friday Art Happening @ Lowell School: New Exhibit + Creatives' Open House + Live Artmaking

Where:  The Historic Lowell School Building, 310 N. 7th St., Downtown Grand Junction, CO 81501

When:  Friday 5/3 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Details:  This month's "First Friday Art Happening @ Lowell School" includes a new exhibit, a creatives' open house, and live artmaking. Here's the rundown:

* Classroom 11:  ArtLight Therapy and Studios is opening the new exhibit "Colorado Landscapes" featuring paintings by Meghan Reker.

* Classroom 7:  Of Dirt and Wildflowers: A Creative Space to Grow and Bloom is hosting a Creators' Open House with works by several local artists on display.  Featuring 3 new creatives: A la Cards, Lindsay Frost Photography, and Caroline McGlade with Greater Good Exchange.

* The Commons (front lawn of the Lowell School Building):  Live painting demonstration by Jeremy Velasquez. The Commons is the newest public park in Downtown Grand Junction that's open for the entire community to enjoy.

* Confluence Studios (across the street from the Lowell School Building):  Confluence Studios' continuing exhibit "Gifts for the Goddess" will include a flower-themed "make-and-take" artmaking activity for all First Friday attendees.  Refreshments available.

PLUS:  It's Food Truck Friday @ Lowell School tonight with 8 food trucks, 6 artisan vendors, kids' activities, live music, award-winning craft beer, and free ice cream! Several of the local businesses and community / civic groups inside the Lowell School will be open late!
